La Fattoria di Tatti

We are surrounded by nature reserves, art and theme parks, hot springs, Medieval villages, works of art, Etruscan archaeological areas, architecture and our fine wines and olive oil.

The most beautiful of Tuscany’s coasts.

  • Tatti
  • We are on the outskirts of Tatti, a mediaeval village, with ties to farming and to mining, an activity carried out from prehistoric times until the last century.

Tatti still has its defence walls, tower, narrow streets, arches, terraced stone houses and a main square with a cistern to collect rainwater. From its hilltop, Tatti looks out to the sea, from its landscape of fields, olive groves and woods, filled with trails to follow on foot, by bicycle or on horseback.

  • Beaches, lakes and spas
  • You can choose from beaches with amenities, natural beaches, sandy beaches and areas with cliffs. We can especially recommend the Sterpaia Park, the Maremma Regional Park, as well as the natural oases and important reserves, and the beaches of Cala Violina and Punta Ala.

About 25 minutes away is lago dell’Accesaa lake that is perfect for those seeking the utmost in relaxing, peaceful settings. And why not discover the wonderful spas of Tuscany? The closest to us are the natural spas that have been in use since Roman times: Calidario, Petriolo and Saturnia.

  • Art cities, villages and churches
  • The stark and mysterious Abbey of St Galgano owes much of its appeal to its lack of roof and to its isolated location in the centre of a plateau. Just a short distance, on top of the hill is the charming Sanctuary of Montesiepi with its sword embedded in stone.

Also worth a visit is Massa Marittima with its splendid town square. Siena is an hour away and a little further, you have Pitigliano, San Gimignano, Volterra andFirenze.

  • Artistic and theme parks
  • Parco Nazionale delle Colline Metallifere, or Tuscan Mining Geopark, is an important park in the mining area of Tuscany.

In the Giardino dei Tarocchi or Giardino dei Tarocchi, you will find enormous, mosaic-covered sculptures by Niki de Saint Phalle, surrounded by wild-growing vegetation. Another contemporary art garden is the Giardino di Daniel Spoerri filled with installations and sculptures. The Giardino dei Suonor Sound Garden is just a short way from Tatti, and is a museum park belonging to artist Paul Fuchs.

  • Archeology and environment
  • Our area is Etruscan, and the signs of this unforgettable civilisation can be seen on the shores and inland, in the Baratti and Populonia archaeological park, located in the extraordinary natural setting of the gulf.

As well as Etruscan civilisation, the area is also rich with many archaeological finds from prehistoric and Vallenovan periods: Lago dell’accesa, Vetulonia, and Roselle Park, which is also the location of a festival of music and theatre.

  • Architecture and wine
  • In Tatti is a producer of Natural Wines and other products such as Olive oil Extra Vergine, with a biodynamic approach. Icea and Demeter certified.
Azienda Agricola Sequerciani, same owner as the Fattoria

Important wines are made in the Maremma area: Morellino di Scansano, Montecucco and in our own specific area, Monteregio di Massa Marittima.

The wineries are of great interest for their contemporary architecture by contemporary greats: Renzo Piano designed Rocca di Frassinello; La Petra is the work of Mario Botta, and the wineries of Ampeleia, I Campetti and Morisfarm are all worthy of note for their important tastings of local wines and specialities, which are also available to buy.

  • Shows and sport
  • As well as festivals and village events, summer also means the concerts of the Grey Cat Jazz Festival: top quality music in the piazzas of the mediaeval villages, quarries, parks and castles.

A host of different sport are available and we warmly recommend: trekking, cycling, horse riding, tennis, golf, and water sports.
